Coimbatore: Amidst vigilance by forest staff at Iyerpadi area in Valparai where a herd of elephants damaged a noon meal centre and shops, a herd of three elephants rampaged a tea shop on Friday morning.
Coimbatore: Amidst vigilance by forest staff at Iyerpadi area in Valparai where a herd of elephants damaged a noon meal centre and shops, a herd of three elephants rampaged a tea shop on Friday morning.
Acting upon the recent complaints by the locals of Iyerpadi area, forest department had stationed two staff to carry out patrol and chase away wild elephants.

This morning, the forest staff were left in shock as their painstaking patrol work went in vain as a herd of three elephants strayed into the area and rampaged a tea shop owned by Sivakumar.

The herd reportedly damaged all the provisions and other items in the store.
Luckily, as the patrol intervened immediately, Sivakumar was safely rescued from the shop.
The entry of elephants, amidst strict patrol had panicked the residents of Iyerpadi area.
