In Contrary, there are incidents were presence of mind of government bus drivers have saved hundreds of passengers by averting from major accidents. Especially bus drivers operating in hilly terrains deserve to be lauded.

Commending and recognising such acts, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bestows awards under various categories, every year. And, this year the award for 'Safest Bus Operation' has been awarded to Valparai branch of TNSTC that comes under the Coimbatore division.
32 buses from TNSTC Coimbatore division are allotted for Valparai branch. Benefitting thousands of passengers on a daily basis, these 32 buses ply from Pollachi, Palani, Tirupur and Coimbatore and to the hilly terrain which has multiple hairpin bends.
The award had been bestowed to the Valparai branch for operating buses without accidents, fuel conservation, maintenance and service.

To celebrate the recognition, an event was organised today at Valparai branch. Managing Director, Anbu Abraham of Coimbatore division of TNSTC presented the award to the Valparai Branch Manager, Chandrasekaran.
As a token of appreciation, a total 250 employees including drivers, conductors, engineers and the workshop employees of the Valparai branch were presented with a watch and a certificate.
The Managing Director Anbu Abraham, Zonal Manager Jothi Manikandan, Valparai Branch Manager Chandrasekaran, drivers, conductors, workers and officers took part in the event.
