Coimbatore: All the five accused of Selvapuram double murder case were sentenced to double life sentence by the Magistrate of the Special Court for exclusive trial of bomb blast cases, here on Friday.
Coimbatore: The Special court for bomb blasts in District Combined Court Complex on Friday awarded double life imprisonment to all the five accused who were convicted in a double murder case.

C. Surya (20), Vignesh Kumar (22) of Selvapuram, Surya (20) and Mohanraj (22) of Perur and Vijayaraju of Srilankan refugee camp were the five accused who murdered Selvaraj and Anandkumar on September 22, 2017.
In broad light, the gang of five people attacked Anandkumar and Selvaraj with knives and sickles near the Corporation restroom in Selvapuram, killing both on the spot.
Four of the accused except Vijayarju surrendered at Selvapuram police station immediately after the murder. Later, upon inquiry, the police arrested Vijayaraju who lives in a Srilankan refugee camp here for his involvement in the murder.
The hearing for this case was ongoing at the Special Court for bomb blast trials at the District Combined Court Complex here. Today, Justice, Malar Valentina pronounced the judgement and sentenced the five-member gang to double life sentence for their brutality.
