Coimbatore: At the indirect election for electing Panchayat Vice Chairman of Odanthurai, Tholampalayam, Chinnakallipatti of the Karamadai Panchayat Union held today, two candidates from AIADMK were elected as Panchayat Vice Chairman.
Coimbatore: At the indirect election for electing Panchayat Vice Chairman of Odanthurai, Tholampalayam, Chinnakallipatti of the Karamadai Panchayat Union held today, two candidates from AIADMK were elected as Panchayat Vice Chairman.
The election for Tholampalyam and Odanthurai Panchayats commenced at 11 AM. In Odanthurai Panchayats, 6 out of 9 members voted for Janaki from AIADMK, who was then announced as the Vice Chairman.
Similarly, Ravichandran from AIADMK who contested for Tholampalayam Panchayat, was selected unanimously as the Vice Chairman.
Earlier, tense situation prevailed at the Odanthurai Panchayat, as two members of AIADMK contested for the post for Vice Chairman in Odanthurai Panchayat. Following, verbal arguments and tussle between the supporters, the Police arrived to the spot and pacified the members.
As none of the members were present for voting, the election for Chinnakallipatti Panchayat was postponed.
