As an act of precaution, the Coimbatire Medical College Hospital (CMCH) has set-up a new ward to handle suspected cases of coronavirus. According to official sources, the 25 bedded ward is equipped with all facilities and medicines to attend to patients who present with symptoms of coronavirus.
"Suspected cases will be quarantined at the ward, to ensure the virus does not spread to other ill patients. Nursing staff and doctors are being briefed on the safety precautions to be followed and treatment options", sources said.
Apprising the people of Coimbatore district, the District Collector, K. Rajamani in a press meet has reassured that people need not panic.
