Two persons in possession of ganja arrested by city police

Yesterday, the Pothanur police received a tip-off of cannabis (ganja) being sold near the Eachanari over-bridge. A team of policemen rushed to this location. Upon interrogating a person who was moving around in a suspicious manner outside an educational institution, in this area, it came to light he was in possession of ganja. He was taken to police station. The police have identified him as AbuThahir from Madukkarai. Police confiscated the ganja and lodged him prison.

In another incident, police received information of ganja being sold near Pillayarpuram near Small Industries Development Corporation (SIDCO). Pothanur police rushed to the spot and picked up Sheik Parithi for questioning. Upon enquiry, police found him in possession of ganja. He was arrested and is lodged in prison.

About 300-grams of ganja was confiscated yesterday alone from Pothanur.
