Eight passengers returning from China who arrived at the Coimbatore airport were tested for signs of Coronavirus infection by the Health Department officials. Though it has been confirmed that none of them were affected, all eight passengers have been advised not to take part in any public gatherings for 28 days, while they will be monitored closely by the Health department officials.
Out of the eight people, four belong to Coimbatore, two from Pollachi, Dindugal and Chennai.
In a media briefing, the District Collector K. Rajamani said, "Coimbatore is currently safe and there are no cases of people affected with Coronavirus. All passengers at the airport are being thoroughly screened, as a matter of precaution."
"And, the eight people who returned from China, today are not affected by Coronavirus. They have however been advised to refrain from attending public gatherings. They will be monitored by the health department officials all 28 days", informed the District Collector.
