Coimbatore: Police have filed a case against a Former Councillor Of Dmk for allegedly slandering Minister, SP Velumani at the Arasur Panchayat Gram Sabha meeting held on Sunday.
Grama Sabha meeting was held in the Arasur Panchayat in Coimbatore district on the occasion of the 71st Republic Day celebration. Along with the locals of the Village, representatives of various political parties were also present.
During the meet, Former DMK Councillor Muthulingam stressed that the garbage stagnation in their Panchayat is causing huge menace to the people and leads to several health hazards. He pointed that lack of proper administration in rural areas is the reason for such menace.
While expressing his views it is reported that he allegedly slandered the Minsiter for Municipal and Rural administration, SP Velumani.
Condemning his talk, Arasur Panchayat Secretary Sivaswamy of AIADMK lodged a complaint at Sulur police station against Muthulingam. Upon investigation, the Police booked Muthulingam under three sections including indecent assault and intimidation.
It is speculated that the Former Councillor would be arrested anytime.
