Coimbatore: The Gramasabha meeting was held during Republic Day (26.01.2020) at the Ikkarapalayam village in Coimbatore District in the Kinnathkadavu panchayat union, Sirukalanthai panchayat. The meeting was chaired by Panchayat President Gunasekaran. At this meeting, District Collector K Rajamani along with other officials from Pollachi and Madukarai attended the meeting and collected all the petitions from the people.

The meeting was chaired by Panchayat President Gunasekaran. At this meeting, District Collector K Rajamani along with other officials from Pollachi and Madukarai attended the meeting and collected all the petitions from the people.
Before the meeting commenced, Sparsh Leprosy Pledge was taken by all who attended the Gramasabha meeting in the presence of the District Collector. The District Collector gave away 5 beneficiaries of the Rainfed Farming Development Program Mango, Gooseberry, Pomegranate and other fruit bearing plant saplings and one beneficiary was given 20 kilograms of Pulse seeds at a subsidized cost of Rs. 1000.
The District Collector addressed the audience and appraised them about the importance of Gramasabha meetings. He said "it's the best way for people to know about all the schemes of the government for their Panchayat. It's also the best way for people in villages to ascertain the schemes that are being implemented and also pass resolution as groups to the government. So it's imperative that all people of the Panchayat and villages to join in for the meetings."
He also applauded this panchayat for being very active and getting all the schemes executed for them.
Under the Prime Minister's Kisan Samman funded scheme which is beneficial to the farmers, financial assistance of Rs 6000 per year is being provided. This subsidy is paid in three installments over a period of four months. Under the Women's Welfare Scheme, Amma Two Wheeler will be provided at a 50% subsidy or discount of Rs. 25000 whichever is lower will be provided for working women. Those who are interested to avail these schemes are requested to apply", the District Collector said.
Furthermore, expenditure on rural local administration and public finance, rainwater collection systems in rural areas and measures to be taken to establish the Tamil Nadu Water resource protection and water management movement, the Kudimaraathu People's Movement, efficient use of water, mosquito-borne dengue fever prevention activities, progress of projects, various project work in the panchayat area and financial cost details, People Planning Movement, Plastic Products Prohibition, Food Supply, Chief Minister's Solar Power Project (2020-21), Prime Minister's Housing Development Scheme (2020-21), MNREGA scheme, Jalsakthi Abhiyan, the Prime Minister's Rural Roads Program were discussed and resolutions were passed.
Subsequently, the District Collector promised to take quick action for the requests from the public, distribute drinking water in all areas for public use, repair streetlights and construct roads. District Collector, K Rajamani, instructed the relevant departmental officers to take up basic work regarding these basic facilities.
