Coimbatore: An elephant from the Nambirayar Temple in Tirunelveli, that was suffering from a sore in its stomach region was treated for its wounds at the Thekkampatti Elephant Rejuvenation camp in Mettupalayam here.
Coimbatore: An elephant from the Nambirayar Temple in Tirunelveli, that was suffering from a sore in its stomach region was treated for its wounds at the Thekkampatti Elephant Rejuvenation camp in Mettupalayam here.

The elephant Kurungudi Valli, had sustained injuries to its stomach area by sleeping on concrete floors on a regular basis.
She was treated by the veterinary team stationed at the camp. The team administered antibiotics to Kurungudi Valli with the help of the mahout. The team made the elephant lie on her side to administer the medicine.
Further treatment is to be provided based on the improvement of the wound along with regular monitoring, for a while.
Notably, 28 elephants are stationed at the camp for rejuvenation.
