Illegal posters: Police warns of action on printing press for processing prohibited content

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Police has warned of severe legal action against those printing presses who take orders for printing defamatory and prohibited content.



Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Police has warned of severe legal action against those printing presses who take orders for printing defamatory and prohibited content. 

In an official statement issued by the City Police, "A total of 11 cases within the City Police Jurisdiction have been registered for illegally pasting posters and advertising banners."

The statement further warned that printing press should act sensible and refrain from accepting orders for printing defamatory and prohibited campaign materials.

"Not only will those paste posters also those printing press where the content was processed will also be taken to task."

As illegal posters are mostly done covertly in the wee hours of the morning, the police department will continue to be on the lookout for violators, the statement informed.
