Coimbatore: Laughter and nostalgia filled the air at the assembly hall of PSG Tech here, as the college celebrated its 15th Young Alumni Meet (YAM) on Saturday.
More than 50 alumni members participated in the meet and recalled their nostalgic memories of their glorious days of their college days and how PSG was instrumental in shaping their life and career.
On behalf of the college, alumni members who have become notable personalities and entrepreneurs were recognised and felicitated. Close to 20 alumni were honored with awards under varied categories for their exemplary achievements in their respective fields.
Welcoming the gathering, Principal of PSG technology, Dr Prakasam said that, the alumni association of the college had played an important role in the development of the college. He also added that "We are planning to issue ID cards to alumni so that they can continue to use facilities like libraries and labs, as in their college days."
D Vijay Mohan, Founder of Pricol Ltd who was the Chief guest for the day recalling his glorious days on the campus told that he is a proud student of PSG tech and he belongs to the 1969 batch of mechanical engineering.
In his address, he emphasized on "Adopt, Adapt and Improve". He advised the students to take quick and wise decisions in the growing competitive business environment.
"Young entrepreneurs should learn to accept their failures, only then they can be a successful in their business", he opined.
Guest of Honour, Karthikeya Sivasenapathy, Managing Trustee of Senapathy Kangayam Cattle Research Foundation commended that comparing to other States, education and healthcare is far better in Tamil Nadu compared to other States."Though politics is not perfect in our State, we have a better model of politics that helps the underprivileged people access to education", he opined.
He lauded that across the globe, alumni of PSG educational institutions are holding dignified positions in various fields including education
