Coimbatore: The Race Course police on Friday, arrested an HR officer who allegedly defrauded the workers' PF deposit fund at a private company operating near Sirumugai in Coimbatore.
Over 100 employees are working in a private hosiery company named SP Apparels operates in Sirumugai. Prakash of Bhavani Sagar area of Erode district was working as the Human Resources Development Officer in the concern.
In the past few months, several complaints have been raised that Prakash has defrauded workers' PF deposits and diverted them into his account.
Acting upon the complaints, the District Probationary Finance Officer, Velraj filed a complaint at the Race Course Road Police Station against the HR officer.
Subsequently, the police registered a case on the complaint and arrested Prakash. Investigations carried out revealed that Prakash had defrauded more than Rs. 50,000 by transferring PF funds to his personal account.
Following this, the police produced him in the District Court and lodged him in the Central Prison here.
