Coimbatore: Former AIADMk MP KC Palanisamy was arrested by the police at his home today after a complaint against him of hosting a fake party website.
Coimbatore: Former AIADMk MP KC Palanisamy was arrested by the police at his home today after a complaint against him of hosting a fake party website.

In 1989, KC Palanisamy was elected as the MP for the Tiruchengode constituency of Namakkal district. He has also held the post of Kangeyam constituency legislator. Citing anti-party activities, he was removed from AIADMK, a few months ago.

In this scenario, the Sulur Police arrested him this morning at his home in Lawley road in Coimbatore. The arrest has been reportedly made based on the complaint lodged by the Kandhavel, Chairman of Muthukoundanpudur stating that Palanisamy has hosted a fake website of AIADMK.

He has been charged under the Indian Penal Code 417 - cheating, 418 - Cheating with knowledge that wrongful loss may ensue
419 - Punishment for cheating by personation
464 - Making a false document
465 - Punishment for forgery
468 - Forgery for purpose of cheating
479 - Illegal property mark.
481 - Using a false property mark.
482 - Punishment for using a false property mark
485 - Making or possession of any instrument for counterfeiting a property mark.
Following this, police protection has enhanced at Sulur police station where he has kept in custody. Media has been denied entry into the police station.
It is to be noted that KC Palanisamy filed case in Delhi High Court that elections must be held for the post of General Secretary in AIADMK party.
