The Pollachi sexual assault case that stirred the nation is being investigated by the CBI. In this case, last year a case was filed by one of the victim's brother that he was assaulted for lodging a complaint against the offenders for sexually harassing his sister and blackmailing with obscene videos of her. Along with the main case, the assualt case was also handled by the CBI who conducted several inquiries.
Today, the CBI has filed a report in the District Criminal Court starting that they will be forgoing further investigation. Citing lack of evidence, the CBI has decided to withdraw further investigations on the assualt case.
The hearing of the case has been postponed to February 6, 2020. The closing date of the hearing is likely to be announced on that day.
