Coimbatore: C-2 Race Road Police Station, adjacent to the Tashildar Office has been voted as the top ranked police station in Tamilnadu.
Every year, the top ten police stations in the country are selected annually by the central government. The award was presented to the B2 RS Puram Police Station in the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation limits in 2017.
The C-2 Race Course Police Station and the D-3 police station in Pothanur were shortlisted for the 2019 awards from Coimbatore.
The C-2 Police Station included a variety of facilities and public service, from a good reception for public reporting, purified drinking water, children's play area, feeding mothers' room, policemen resting place, separate lockups for men and women, and efficient maintenance of criminal records.
Based on the evaluation of all the best police stations from across the state, the state government has declared that the Race Course Police Station as the best police station for the year 2020.
The Police Commissioner for Coimbatore City Sumit Saran and SP Sujith Kumar have extended their warm appreciation and wishes to the personnel incharge of the station.
