As part of this, a rally was held on Monday from the Central Regional Transport Office, Coimbatore. District Superintendent of Police, Sujit Kumar inaugurated the Walkathon today, the second consecutive day.
Emphasising road safety, more than 700 employees of the Indian Air Force, Ganga College of Nursing, Hindustan College of Arts and Sciences, CIT College, Ramakrishna College of Arts and Sciences, All India Tourist Drivers Association and Ambal ITI students took part in the awareness rally.
The rally commenced at the VOC grounds and proceeded through Avinashi Road to Kuppusamy Naidu Hospital.
Central Regional Transport Officer Bhaskar, Northern Regional Officer Kumaravel and Southern Regional Officer Saravanan were also present at the Walkathon.
