Wild elephants rampage shop near Coonoor

The Nilgiris: A herd of four elephants have reportedly rampaged a ration shop near Greigmore Estate near Thuthoormattam in Coonoor on Sunday.

The Nilgiris: A herd of four elephants have reportedly rampaged a ration shop near Greigmore Estate near Thuthoormattam in Coonoor on Sunday. 



Before rampaging the ration shop, the four elephants rampaged a grocery store owned by Sivadasan of Thuthoormattam and damaged several sacks of rice and other provisions. 



Seeing the herd attack the ration shop, the locals alerted the forest department. However, the herd moved away before the foresters arrived. 



The estate workers and the locals have demanded the foresters to chase the elephant herd which has camped in the area for over two weeks.
