Coimbatore: The 7th edition of Coimbatore's Premier Cycling event, 'The MVS Cycling Carnival 2020' by Pinnacle sports and Welfare Association along with Tamil Nadu Cycling Association is scheduled to be conducted on Feb 1 and 2 at Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: The 7th edition of Coimbatore's Premier Cycling event, 'The MVS Cycling Carnival 2020' by Pinnacle sports and Welfare Association along with Tamil Nadu Cycling Association is scheduled to be conducted on Feb 1 and 2 at Coimbatore.
The Race is taking place under two categories, MVS Coimbatore Enduro and MVS Coimbatore Criterium. Enduro racing is a type of mountain racing and Criterium racing is a race of several laps around a closed circuit, the length of each lap or circuit ranging from about 800 m to 10,000 m.
MVS Coimbatore Enduro is scheduled on Feb 1 at Enduro Farm Stage and Enduro Range stage opposite to Coimbatore Golf Courses. MVS Coimbatore Criterium is scheduled at Kari Motors Speedway on Feb 2 (Sunday). MVS Coimbatore Criterium, this year is added with more categories for Kids.
The event is conducted for different age groups - Kids(Under 6 years to 14 years), Under 18 boys, Amateur Men and Women (For men and women of all age group), Masters Men and Women (Age group of 40 and above), Elite (for Professionals), Veterans Men and Women ( Age group of 55 and above).

Scott Cycles, Tissot, Peekay Steels, Titan Paints, Stylux, LRT, LEED Payoda Technologies and The Residency Towers are sponsoring the events and total cash prizes worth 2,40,000 would be presented to the winners.
At the press meet held today, two Coimbatore athletes who participated at the Paris Breast Paris event which is a 1200 km race held at Paris were felicitated. Siva Balaji T, who completed the race of 1200 km at 87.56 hours is one among the three athletes from Coimbatore to complete the race within the given time while Chakravarthy S Birur completed the race at 93 hours. Both the Coimbatore athletes were presented with the Sports Achievement Award.
Others present at the press meet held today at Residency Towers were Arjun Balu and Sanjay Balu from Pinnacle sports and Welfare Association, Rathakrishnan, Tamil Nadu Cycling Association and Charles Fabian, The Residency Towers.
