Coimbatore: Under the National Polio eradication programme every year, children below 5 years of age are administered Polio drops all over the country. According to a press release from Coimbatore Corporation, Polio Vaccination drive in Coimbatore Corporation wards will be conducted on 19th January 2020.

According to a press release from Coimbatore Corporation, Polio Vaccination drive in Coimbatore Corporation wards will be conducted on 19th January 2020.
Polio Vaccination camps will be conducted across the city in Primary health centres, Noon meal centres and all private hospitals from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm on Sunday. Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner, Sravan Kumar Jatavat has requested the people to bring their children who are 5 years or below in age for the free vaccination drive.
To provide vaccination to children from outside the state, special camps have been set up at Coimbatore Corporation office, Railway station, 5 bus stands. 5 mobile units will also be deployed for the same purpose.
CCMC commissioner has further stated that Polio vaccination offered at the camps are extremely safe and parents should administer Polio drops to every child below 5 years of age to eradicate the disease completely.
