Tirupur: Cotton bales worth more than Rs. 5 lakh crore were reduced to ashes in a fire accident at a Cotton godown at Kavundampalayam, Uthukuli in Tirupur district on Wednesday.
Tirupur: Cotton bales worth more than Rs. 5 lakh were reduced to ashes in a fire accident at a Cotton godown at Kavundampalayam, Uthukuli in Tirupur district on Wednesday.
The cotton godown belongs to Senthil and is located at the Four Roads area in Kavundampalayam, Uthukuli in Tirupur district. On Wednesday night, the godown caught fire and the neighbours alerted the Fire Department.
The fire personnel rushed to the location and doused the fire in two hours. Initial reports sat, goods worth Rs.5 lakhs were gutted in the accident. The Uthukuli police are investigating to ascertain the trigger for the fire accident.
