Coimbatore: Displaying religious amity, District cadres of DMK in Mettupalayam (MTP) from diverse faiths celebrated ‘Samathuva Pongal’ at the bus stand area on Tuesday.
The celebration was led by Mohammed Younis, District Secretary of the party. The cadres who were from diverse religious faiths with zeal took part in the festivity to mark oneness and amity.
Later, Pongal and sugarcane were distributed to the public.
Executive committee member T.R. Shanmugasundaram, District Youth Wing Deputy coordinator M.R.K. Hakkim and other executive party members took part in the event.
