The Nilgiris: A leopard has sparked panic in Padanthurai Village after wandering on the road, close to residential area.
The residents of Padanthurai in Gudalur in the Nilgiris District have urged the forest department to chase way or capture the leopard that has been prowling on the main road, for the past one week.
Several motorists, mostly locals of the area have encountered the leopard which has been hiding behind the bushes to prey on the cattle.
The locals fear that the leopard could attack the estate workers and school going children who use the road frequently.
