Man trampled to death by elephant in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: A 55-year-old man who was on his way to work was trampled to death by a wild elephant in the late hours on Saturday here.

Coimbatore: A 55-year-old man who was on his way to work was trampled to death by a wild elephant in the late hours on Saturday here. 

According to sources, the deceased R. Rangasamy, was working as a daily labour at a farm in Sappanimadai in Nallurpathy in Coimbatore. On Saturday evening, he was moving towards his workplace when a wild elephant that was lurking around attacked and killed him on the spot.

His mortal remains were collected by Boluvampati range forest officials and was sent to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
