Tirupur: At the indirect election held for electing Tirupur District Chairman, AIADMK's Sathyabhama won by 14 votes.
Out of the 17 district councillors, 14 voted in favour of her and she was declared as District Chairman. Similarly, in all 13 unions in Tirupur district, election for Union Councilor was held, today.
In which, DMK won in 7 Unions including Palladam, Pongalur, Dharapuram, Madathukkulam, Udumalai, Uthukkuli and Mulanur, and 4 unions including Avinashi, Tirupur, Vellakoil and Kudimangalam.
The remaining Gundadam and Kangeyam areas were won by independent candidates.
