Coimbatore: A train ran over an elderly man while he was crossing the tracks near Hopes college here on Saturday morning.
Coimbatore: A train ran over an elderly man while he was crossing the tracks near Hopes college here on Saturday morning.
Sukumar (67), a resident of Peelamedu, was walking on the tracks near Hope's College to relieve himself along the tracks. A passenger train from Tirupur ran over him and he died on the spot.
Subsequently, the residents in the area reported to the Peelamedu police
and the railway police. The body was retrieved and taken to the Coimbatore
Government Hospital for autopsy.
Railway police are investigating.
