Coimbatore: Expressing their solidarity and condemnation against an attack on students and staff of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) New Delhi by masked men, on Sunday, the members of Tamil Nadu Students Federation staged a demonstration here seeking immediate arrest of those involved in the brutality.
At least 40 students including staff of JNU sustained injuries and were admitted to hospital. The incident has sparked wide spread shock and outrage, especially among the students.

More than 80 students participated in the demonstration held in front of South Taluk Office here and raised slogans to ban RSS, which they claimed to have allegedly planned the attack on students who protested in a peaceful way against CAA and NRC.

Following this, the protesting students sang the national anthem and concluded their protest. Though the police stopped them, the students continued to sing.
