Tirupur: The Islamic community in Tirupur have been staging protests continuously in the Tirupur area against the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act. Continuing the protests today, protests were organised by the United Sunnath Jamaat and Jamaat Ulama.
Tirupur: The Islamic community in Tirupur have been staging protests continuously in the Tirupur area against the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act. Continuing the protests today, protests were organised by the United Sunnath Jamaat and Jamaat Ulama.

Muslims belonging to 10 mosques from various areas including Tirupur Kangeyam Road, CTC Corner, Periya Pallivasal, Kombai Estate and Periya Thottam gathered for protests after their Friday prayers.

The protests were going on as planned and police were providing security to the gathering and vehicles were not allowed through that area. At that time, Dinesh Kumar of Shiv Sena drove his car through the crowd despite police orders and was capturing a video of the protests.

The irked Muslims gathered around for the protests, took the helmets that were kept in two wheelers parked in the area and smashed them into the Shiv Sena member’s car windshield and broke it to pieces. The police quickly intervened, spoke to both parties, escorted Dinesh Kumar to safety, and also stopped the protests.

Dinesh Kumar demanded action against that the protestors who broke his car.
