The Nilgiris: Hundreds of Islamic people took part in the anti Citizenship Amendment Act protest held in Coonoor today held on behalf of Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK).

Traffic was halted for a brief time as the protestors marched raising slogans against the centre demanding to repeal the Act. Political parties including DMK, VCK also supported the protest.

The protestors from TMMK vowed that they would laid seige to government offices, if the centre does not repeal CAA and proposed National Register of Citizenship.

It may be recalled that last week, around 300 cadres of TMMK courted arrest in Tirupur when they staged a "rail roko" agitation against CAA.
