Coimbatore: The Chief Judicial Magistrate Court here on Thursday has dismissed the petition filed by late DSP Vishnupriya's father seeking to re-investigate his daughter's suicide case.
The plea dismissal comes after the CBI investigated the matter for the second time and filed a report confirming that DSP Vishnupriya committed suicide for personal reasons.
Earlier, in November 2019, the Court ordered to re-investigate the case after Vishnupriya's father Ravi filed a petition filed against the CBI's closure report.
After three years of investigation, the CBI filed a closure report on April 16, 2018, before the Coimbatore court, stating that it was merely a case of suicide and ruled out a conspiracy.
However, the court summoned Vishnupriya's parents to allow them to put forth their views and ordered the CBI to investigate seven others including Ravi, DSP Vishnupriya's father.
After holding an investigation, the CBI has submitted a report to the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court here stating that there is no conspiracy in DSP Vishnupriya's death.
On Thursday, when the case came for heating, Advocate of Vishnupriya's father submitted a petition to re-investigate the case. Justice Ravi dismissed the petition.
Speaking to the media, Vishnupriya's father, Ravi said a petition will be filed against the order. And, a complaint against SP Senthil Kumar will also be lodged, he said.
"Will fight until I get justice for my daughters death", he vowed.
The Case
In 2015, DSP Vishnupriya was investigating the murder case of Dalit youth Gokulraj, who was brutally killed by Yuvaraj, a caste outfit leader and his accomplices for talking to a caste-Hindu girl.
As the case drew to an end, on September 15, 2015, DSP Vishnupriya was found dead, by hanging from the ceiling in her quarters in Namakkal.
Vishnupriya's father, Ravi and friend Maheswari alleged that she was forced to take this extreme decision because of the undue pressure from top officials. They also cited the suicide note which hinted work stress.
The State government ordered a CB-CID investigation; it was then taken transferred to CBI. Though on April, 2018, the CBI investigation report ruled out all allegations of external pressure forcing her to commit suicide, the Court ordered to re-investigate after a plea was putforth by her father.
In the second investigation report submitted, the CBI has reitrated the same.
