Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, the Valparai Police on Wednesday arrested a man for kidnapping and killing a minor girl from Kerala. The man allegedly killed the girl and had dumped the body in Valparai.
Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, the Valparai Police on Wednesday arrested a man for kidnapping and killing a minor girl from Kerala. The man allegedly killed the girl and had dumped the body in Valparai.
Upon a tip off from the Kerala police on a car theft, the Valparai Police during a vehicle check near Waterfall estate on Pollachi-Valparai road intercepted a car with Kerala registration.
While checking the car, the police spotted blood stains on the back seat and fell suspicious on the driver.
During an inquiry with the driver, S.Shabir (21), he confessed that he had stolen the car from a water wash station in Ernakulam district in Kerala. When inquired on the blood stains, he confessed that he had kidnapped a 17-year-old girl from Kerala and murdered her and dumped her body in Valparai.
Immediately after stealing the car, Sabhir had kidnapped the minor girl, Eva Antony, daughter of Vinod from the same area. He also confessed of killing the girl and dumping her body at a coffee plantation in the Varattupaarai area on the Solaiyar dam road in Valparai.
Based on his inputs, the police launched a search for the girl's corpse in Varattupaarai area and found the corpse dumped inside a coffee plantation near the U-bend in Varattupaari area.
The Valparai Police immediately retrieved the body and alerted the Kerala Police. The body was sent to Chalakudy, Kerala for post mortem.
The accused Shabir was handed over to the Kerala Police Department by the Valparai Police.
