Owing to the bandh, transportation of vegetables from the Nilgiris to other parts were severely affected.

Though, transport to Mysore and Bengaluru from Ooty were uninterrupted, all buses from Ooty to Wayannad, Kozhikode, Kannur and other parts of Kerala were cancelled.

The price of vegetables at Mettupalayam wholesale market is expected to surge due to reduced supply from the Nilgiris.
