Coimbatore: A 55-year-old man was arrested for raping and impregnating a mentally-ill woman from Ukkadam in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: A 55-year-old man was arrested for raping and impregnating a mentally-ill woman from Ukkadam in Coimbatore.
A couple of days back, the parents the 22-year-old victim who is suffering from mental illness took her to doctor for treating fever. While examining her, the doctor revealed that she was pregnant. Shocked by the news, her parents lodged a complaint at the All Women's Police Station.
Upon investigation by Inspector Prabhavathi of All Women's Police Station, Mohammed Asan (55) from the same area was arrested in connection with the incident. The man confessed that he had raped the woman multiple times during her parents absence.
The accused was remanded.
