Coimbatore: A 45-year-old man was arrested by Valparai Police for allegedly peddling cannabis among college students, on Tuesday. The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Das (a) Mariyasusai (45), a resident of Kamaraj Nagar in Valparai.
Coimbatore: A 45-year-old man was arrested by Valparai Police for allegedly peddling cannabis among college students, on Tuesday. The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Das (a) Mariyasusai (45), a resident of Kamaraj Nagar in Valparai.
Acting upon a tip-off, that a drug peddler was attempting to sell ganja to college students in Valparai and surrounding areas, a police team headed by inspector Balamurugan in a raid tracked down a man with 1.5 kg of ganja.
The accused was identified as Mariyasusai and on enquiry it was found that he was a felon and had already been arrested for other criminal activities and has also been imprisoned under the Goondas Act.
When subjected to interrogation, the accused further confessed of procuring cannibis to sell them to college students. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody by the Court.
The police have also seized 1.5 kg of ganja, from the arrested.
