Talking to Simplicity, Dr. Kavidasan clarified that "Manikandan, an employee of our petrol bunk on Mettupalayam road was found guilty of stealing petrol. When he was confronted, he came up with a past issue involving his wife. Three months back, a supervisor, Subhash from the same petrol bunk recorded video of Savitha in a dressing room. When the issue came to the management, we informed the Saibaba Colony Police station where the issue was amicably settled between the two parties, after which Manikandan withdrew the case.The Supervisor was immediately dismissed and Manikandan and his wife continued to work at the petrol bunk."
"Over the past few months, it was noted that Manikandan has been stealing petrol. After knowing it, we were waiting for the right chance to nab him red-handed. Last week, we gathered evidence of Manikandan's theft and confronted him. We took him to Saibaba Colony Police Station to file a case. And, that's when Manikandan came up with the incident of past video of his wife and threatened us of publishing it and defaming the company's name", he said.
When questioned, if he was involved in beating up Manikandan, Dr. Kavidasan strongly denied the allegation.
Manikandan who earlier accused the management for falsely blaming him of theft, has now agreed of stealing petrol. He, however reiterated that Dr. Kavidasan was among others who brutally thrashed him for storing the video in the phone. He has also hinted the involvement of a senior staff at the petrol bunk in the theft.
"The plan for stealing petrol was sketched by supervisor Subhash. However, even after he left I continued to steal Petrol", he confessed.
He also informed that earlier, he had amicably settled with Supervisor Subhash at the Police station, after the management promised to take action on the supervisor and requested not to escalate the issue, as it would defame their company's reputation.
Commenting on the issue, Manikandan's advocates, Silambarasan and Saravanan have alleged that the Police have not yet filed a case on the issue. They also alleged that the doctor at the government hospital has mentioned only one name in the report instead of mentioning what the patient has told.
"It is the duty of the police to investigate on how many and who were involved in the incident. Why should the government doctors conceal the names?", they questioned.
Presently, Manikandan is treated at Coimbatore Government Hospital and no case has been filed against Manikandan for his theft nor on the management for allegedly assaulting him.
THE CASE
In a shocking allegation, a man has been allegedly assaulted by the management of a private company for allegedly possessing compromising videos of a female staff (his wife) which was shot by another employee and amicably settled, a few months ago.
Manikandan (35) and Savitha (30) are from Kannappanagar, Coimbatore. They have been working for over 8 years in a petrol bunk owned by Roots Company in Eru company, Saibaba Colony.
Three months ago, when Savitha was changing her clothes in the dressing room at the bunk, she left suspicious and felt someone was secretively videotaping her. And, she immediately informed her husband.
Her husband Manikandan later complained to the management about the incident and proved that Supervisor Subhash had videotaped her wife through his cell phone.
The management enquired the issue and came to know that Subhash has videotaped Saritha while changing clothes through his cellphone. Later, the issue was later amicably settled between the two parties and the source files of the videos were supposedly deleted.
Now, it was come to light that Manikandan had stored a copy of the video in his cellphone. It is alleged that after the management came to know that Manikandan holds a copy of the issue, few people from the management along with the Managing Director have assaulted Manikandan forcing him to delete the video. As Manikandan refused to delete the video, they have allegedly thrashed him. Manikandan who sustained severe injuries is presently undergoing treatment at Coimbatore Government Hospital.
Commenting on the assault, Manikandan said, "I had stored the videos for evidence sake. Knowing that I still have the proof, Managing Director Kavidasan of Roots, PRO Saravanan, Manager Shankar Ganesh and few others brutally attacked me. They have also made a false complaint stating that I had stolen petrol from the bunk."
