Coimbatore: The Ultra Cup 2020 badminton tournament kicks off today at the Coimbatore Kerala Club. The event was inaugurated by Inspector General of Police (West Zone) Periaiah today with over 30 teams participating including the Kerala Club team, media personnel and police teams.
Coimbatore: The Ultra Cup 2020 badminton tournament was flagged by Inspector General of Police (West Zone) K. Periaiah today, at Coimbatore Kerala Club. Over 30 teams including Kerala Club team, media personnel and police teams will be participating in the competition.
Speaking later, he said that participating in competitions was more important than winning the competition. He urged all to participate in such competitions regularly. Speaking further, he said that with police and media personnel being overworked, this type of sports competition would reduce their stress. He expressed his gratitude to the club executives who coordinated this.
He then introduced the T-shirts of the competition and participated in two competitions. The games will continue until the 14th. On 14th, finals will be held and the grand prize will be awarded to the winners on the day of the finals.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Kerala Club President Sri Kumaran, Secretary Sasitharan, Vice President Pradeep Nambiar, Tournament Coordinator Kurien and Ultra Group Chairman Sivaswamy.
