Coimbatore: A 25-year-old man from Sulur, here was booked under POCSO Act for posting child pornography photos and videos in social media.
The cybercrime department tracked a person who had been uploading child pornography in his social media page. Upon investigation, the man was identified as R. Satyamoorthy (25) from Sulur and he had downloaded several child pornographic images and videos and posted them on his Facebook page.
According to Police reports, Sathyamoorthy has been working as a driver in a private engineering college in Sulur for the past two years. He was living with his family at Pothampalayam in Avinashi in Coimbatore district.
He also confessed that he had a lust for viewing pornography and uploaded child pornography on his facebook profile for others to see. He also saved several of such images in his cell phone.
Upon a complaint by the cybercrime department to Sulur police, they arrested him and booked him under POCSO and later was remanded.
In a recent press note, the District Superintendent of Police, Sujit Kumar has warned of strict legal action against those who view, store and share child pornography.
