Commenting on the victory, Singanallur DMK MLA N Karthik said, "Though dates for Corporation, Municipality and Town Panchayat elections are yet to be announced. The DMK and it's allied parties have won Panchayat Union councils and District Panchayats and village panchayats all over TN, amid a lot of violations and hindrances."
TN people in rural areas have given a massive victory for DMK, he added.
Alleging that the results were purposefully announced late, MLA Karthik informed that "In a majority of counting centres, the results were delayed by 2-3 hours. Overcoming all the hurdles putforth by the ruling party, DMK has emerged victorious."
On behalf of DMK, he also thanked the people of Coimbatore district for casting their votes for DMK and their allied parties.
Though the results from rest of TN would be highly encouraging for DMK, they lost majority of the seats in Coimbatore District, though they made big inroads in many seats compared to the last time.
