Coimbatore: In another sexual assault case reported in the city, a 25-year-old man has been arrested and booked under POCSO Act in connection with sexual assault of a minor school-going girl.
Coimbatore: In another sexual assault case reported in the city, a 25-year-old man has been arrested and booked under POCSO Act in connection with sexual assault of a minor school-going girl.
According to Police reports, Ramkumar (25) from Selvapuram has been working as a collection agent in a private credit card company in Avinashi road. On Wednesday, Ramkumar has forcefully entered the house of a 14-year-old girl in his area and sexually assaulted her. He threatened to kill her, if she complained of this to her parents.
However, the girl gathered strength and reported the incident to her parents. Based on the complaint by her parents, the Selvapuram police filed a case and arrested Ramkumar. After inquiry, as he confessed to his crime, the Police booked him under POCSO and remanded him.
It may be noted that 425 POCSO cases have been reported in the West Zone comprising of eight districts in 2019.
