Coimbatore: Nigar Kalaikoodam, a Coimbatore-based cultural organisation is all set to host the second edition of parai lessons starting from Sunday here.
According to members of the organisations, the classes would be held at the Shri Raman Chettiyar Memorial Matriculation and Higher Secondary School in Thanneerpandhal near Hopes College, on Avinashi road.
Classes would be held twice a month on Sundays between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm. Around 20 classes would be taken for the participants during the training period.
“Parai is not just a musical instrument. It is an instrument of freedom from social bondages and separations. We believe that the thoughts of the person who plays it would come true,” said a member.
