Talking about the work environment at Tirupur, Parveen Fathima said that she has been provided a safe and secure workplace.
The 24-year-old Parveen is one of the 90 Ladakh women who are currently working at SCM private garment company in Tirupur.
Recently, she was given a surprise by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, when he telephoned her up to know if she was comfortable.
“I live in a place where there are very less facilities such as these. Income has become a forbidden fruit and we are forced on move out for money. Though, I was scared to come here in the initial days, Tamil people have made me feel at home and safe,” she said.
Claiming that her parents were saddened by her departure from Kargil, her place, Parveen Fathima added that she was happy to be a supervisor at the company she works at Tirupur.
