Thousands of devotees participated and offered prayers on the occasion of the New Year celebrations of 2020 at the Vinayakar temple in Puliakulam here on Wednesday.
The deity of Lord Vinayakar was decorated with colorful flowers and ‘Raja Abhishekam’ was performed.
"Starting of new events and occasions by offering prayers to Vinayakar marks prosperity and well being of the family", said a devotee at the Puliakulam Vinayakar temple.
New year special services were conducted at several churches and mosques in the city, as well.
