The City Police have requested the public, especially youngsters to cooperate to make this New Year an Accident Free New Year - 2020.
All flyovers inclusing Avinashi road and Gandhipuram will be closed from 8 PM of Decemeber 31 to 4 AM of January 1, 2020.
In an attempt to check drunk and rash driving on the New Year eve, 1500 police personnel will be on duty under the supervision of Assistant Commissioners. Special teams are assigned across the city, especially at all arterial junctions.
According to traffic police officials, the crackdown on drunk driving will commence from 8 PM, today. Barricades have been placed at many parts of the city highlighting "Accident Free New Year".
