Coimbatore: With the Special POCSO Court pronouncing a death sentence on the accused in the case involving the rape and murder of a minor girl in Thudiyalur, District Police have formed a new team to probe the second DNA sample retrieved from autopsy.
Ananthanayaki, the Inspector of Coimbatore Anti Child Trafficking Unit (ACTU), would be heading the team that is to find out who the additional DNA samples belong to.
Notably, Ananthanayaki, received a medal of honour from the State Government for her excellence in investigations.
Announcing about the formation of the new team, IG, K. Periaiah said that team would finish the case soon and arrest the culprit.
It maybe noted that the prime accused Santhoshkumar was convicted by the court on 27th and was punished under various charges.
