Political parties are engaged in the final election campaign today as the second phase of the local government elections in the Karamadai Panchayat Union, Mettupalayam taluk, Coimbatore will be held on the 30th.
In this case, the former DMK legislator and Coimbatore electoral trustee of DMK, Appavu campaigned for the DMK and coalition parties ahead of the local body elections. Appavu campaigned in Odanthurai, Chikkadasampalayam among other locations.
He said, "Nearly ₹12,000 crore corruption was carried out in providing street light facilities alone. Minister refrained from local body elections to be able to carry out his corrupt activities smoothly"
Speaking about corruption cases on Minister Velumani, he said that he would soon be imprisoned. Hence he asked the public to vote for DMK to provide a corruption-free government.
