Booth slips were given to all the people to vote in the local government elections in Kodamalai, Adar Estate and Solada Mattam areas of Vandisolai Panchayat in Nilgiris District.
Following this, people living out-of-town had come to their hometowns to cast their votes. But to their dismay they found that many names have been deleted, including the names of the people living out of town and the names of the dead.
A total of 82 people from Vandisolai Panchayat have been removed from the final voting list. The out-of-towners besieged the Thasildhar claiming that they had come all the way to cast their votes but their rights have been stripped due to the removal of their names from the list. The deadlock remained for an hour and the people only dispersed after the officials promised to take action
