Coimbatore: After spending nearly five decades of their lives together, an elderly husband and wife died on the same day in Sirumugai on Thursday.
Coimbatore: After spending nearly five decades of their lives together, an elderly husband and wife died on the same day in Sirumugai on Thursday.
Pelladi alias Rangasamy (86) and his wife Kannammal (68) are residents of Thaneer Thadam, Alangombu in Sirumugai. For a major part of his life, Rangasamy worked in the construction field as a labourer.
Recently, Kannammal was diagnosed with cancer and has been undergoing treatment for the past few months.
Today morning, when Rangasamy entered the home, he collapsed and died on the spot. Seeing him motionless, Kannammal was shocked and cried aloud in grief. Within a few minutes, as Kannammmal abruptly stopped crying, the neighbours and relatives checked on her and found her dead, too.
The couple had three daughters Jothimani, Chinnathai and Lakshmi, 2 sons Nagaraj and Murugesan The couple had three daughters, two sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Their daughters and son said "Our parents will be cremated together tomorrow."
