Vehicles were seen inching, as heavy mist engulfed Ooty-Coonoor, MTP-Kotagiri and other roads in the hill district. As visibility was very low, heavy vehicles like buses and lorries transporting vegetables and fruits from Ooty had to halt at many places for the climate condition to improve.
And the tourists were forced to stay indoors, as most of the tourist destinations like boat house, Dodabetta and Lamb's Rock were inaccessible.
Cold weather prevailed in Kotagiri, Coonoor and Ooty on Wednesday as minimum temperatures continued to hover below normal at several places.
Drivers are advised to excercise extreme caution while driving, importantly use fog lamps.
