Coimbatore: Ramanathapuram police arrested a man for constantly stalking and harrassing a woman professor and taking pictures of her. He has reportedly issued death threats to her father for questioning him. A case of stalking and criminal intimidation has been registered against the accused.

Manikandan (23) from Ramanathapuram in Coimbatore has reportedly been stalking and harrassing a woman professor working in a private college here. He has been taking pictures of her and causing immense mental torture to her by following her everyday from her home to bus stand.
As he began causing tremendous mental agony, the professor informed the issue to her father. Today morning, her father accompanied her and as usual Manikandan was waiting for her at the bus stand.
Enraged by his behaviour, the father of the woman professor warned Manikandan to stop stalking his daughter.
Shortly, a verbal war broke out between them and Manikandan reportedly issued death threats to her father.
He immediately informed the Ramanathapuram police of the issue. Inspector Murugesan who inquired the case ordered to arrest Manikandan and booked him under Section 506 (ii) and 75. Later, he was produced in the Court and lodged at Coimbatore Central prison.
