Earlier, on November 12 an order to this effect was issued by M Harikumar, Senior Divisional Operation Manager of Salem Division instructing officers to procure pepper sprays using the station imprest.
In a bid to ensure the safety of female employees working at various isolated locations such as wayside stations and level crossings as gate keepers and loco pilots, pepper sprays for self-defence of such female employees were distributed today.
A. Annadurai, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, E. Harikrishnan Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Salem, Harikumar Senior Divisional Operations Manager presided over the event.
